You may have heard that Love is the only thing that is real and unchanging in the universe. You may have heard that Love is the ultimate healer, the ultimate energy that repositions our thought patterns and perceptions to align with Truth.

The question is how it actually works to do so.

How, when you are in the grip of a false, limiting, or negative thought or perception, can Love help engender a shift into a more truthful and life-affirming perspective? How does Love effect deeply entrenched patterns, those that you have carried for a lifetime, which arise continuously and without effort? These are good questions, and worthy of exploration.

Love is foremost a field of high consciousness, one that is absolute and complete. Visualize an energy field in which nothing is lacking, where there is no want for anything more or for anything to be different than it is. That is Love.

When this field of consciousness, this frequency of energy, is brought to bear upon that which is unlike itself—and that can be a thought, perception, emotion or attitude, for all of these are too forms of energy—it cannot help but be affected by the vibration of Love. Love is disruptive to anything that is unlike itself. It shakes it up, loosens it at the foundation, makes it jiggle and come apart at the seams.

Some energy fields are dense, such as hatred or greed, and it can take some time in the presence of Love for that field to be affected. For all of those energies which are alive in you, Love needs to be brought to them consistently, until they too will begin to loosen their grip on your mind and make way for the consciousness that is absolute and wants for nothing, and which cannot be altered by anything.

The fact is, most people do not bring Love to their lower energy fields frequently and consistently. They dabble, doing so just enough to ease the grip of a particular perspective or emotion but not long enough so that it dissolves entirely. It’s easy to cease doing the work the moment things feel like they’ve loosened up a bit, when a little more breath can find its way in. There is a feeling of a return to normality, and the sense that all is in order again. In truth, the return to normality simply means the immediate grip of the lower energy fields has diminished somewhat, but in all likelihood it is far from dissolved. That is considered “normal.”  It will most likely flair up again another day, when you are triggered by something, and you will once again be in its grip.

Love is a universal absolute, and it is available unwaveringly. The only thing that stands in the way of shining its light upon all the denser energy fields that exist within you until they dissolve entirely is you: your lack of consistency with the process of allowing Love to dissolve thoroughly anything unlike itself. To do that, it must become our routine. Not just for five minutes now and then, but throughout the day, whenever you notice a thought or emotion or attitude arise that is less than Loving.

In those moments take pause, and invite Love to grace that energy. Let it rest there, reflecting your ongoing choice for Love. In time, you will become one whose mind is full of Love, an increasingly permanents state of being.

So then will you have aligned with the universe and the Infinite Mind, and you will be a living expression of Love in the world.

  1. Very true, especially surrendering more consistently our lower vibrations to the pull of deep love. Was at an Ammaji’s public gathering outside of Santa Fe the other day and bought an embroidered, rose-scented heart with a message from her, ‘Love can accomplish anything and everything. Love can cure diseases. Love can heal wounded hearts and transform human minds.’
Thank you for the reminder Leon.

  2. Yes, consistency with the process is important. Keep it as a routine in life. That is a good practice to be aware of where I am , in Love or away from Love.

That’s a helpful question to ask oneself Betty, In this moment am I in Love or away from Love? Where are my thoughts or actions coming from? It just takes a moment to check in at this level.
